Here at Body & Face St Cyrus, we manufacture and extensive range of aromatherapy base products for aromatherapists to add their own blends of essential oils. For more information on our range of products take a look here and here.

Essential oils can be mare from a wide range of plant material such as flowers, buds, bark, peels, and seeds. These oils are highly aromatic and are obtained through steam distillation. The use of essential oils can be traced back as far as the ancient civilisations of Egypt, Greece, Rome, and also China! The natural essences of these oils were believed to improve sensuality, aid tranquillity, enhance concentration and stimulate nerve function - leaving you looking and feeling healthier.

Aromatic Oils

The recent revival of Aromatherapy is seen as part of a greater respect for nature and the increasing desire to adopt a natural approach to health and well-being. Some essential oils have even been shown to demonstrate a variety of anti-bacterial, anti-septic, anti-inflammatory, and anti-fungal properties. This means that essential oils can act holistically with mood and emotion-enhancing capacity.

Each oil will have a different use and are intended for topical use or inhalation - they are not intended to be ingested. However it is important to remember to dilute essential oils before use, and to do a patch test to check for allergic reactions. They also should not be applied onto broken or irritated skin.

Also beware that using drops as measurements may not lead to the most accurate results as they can vary with size. If in doubt, remember less is more with essential oils.
